Panda Express allegedly violated employee's civil rights

CHICAGO — An employee is suing Panda Express Inc. for alleged sexual harassment, retaliation and violations of her civil rights. 

A female employee filed a lawsuit on March 2 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois alleging the defendant allowed one of its employees to sexually harass and assault her while at work.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges she sustained emotional damages in 2016 from being assaulted at work. The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible for allegedly retaliating against her after the incident by failing to re-assign her to another location.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks enjoin the defendant, pay back wages, front pay, lost benefits, compensatory and punitive damages, court costs and any further relief the court grants. She is represented by Alejandro Caffarelli and Madeline K. Engel of Caffarelli & Associates Ltd. in Chicago.
