CHICAGO — A company is suing R & R Boardwalk LLC, R & R Park Place LLC, Richard Pietranek and Hector Sam Cruz, claiming they broke into a locked storage facility and committed a theft.

Restoration Services LLC, Mike's Transportation LLC, 27W351 LLC and owners Keith Marino, Susan Marino and F. Michael Malone filed a complaint on March 10 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois against the defendants, alleging they broke into the plaintiff's storage facility to steal documents to be used against them in another lawsuit. The plaintiffs sold some assets of their company to the defendants in June 2012, and the alleged break-in happened in April 2014.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs claim that they sustained damages to their business from the defendants' alleged theft. The plaintiffs hold the defendants responsible because they allegedly refused to return the stolen property despite plaintiff's demands.

The plaintiffs seek compensatory damages, punitive damages, interest, restitution, court costs, disgorgement, the return of property and any further relief this court grants. They are represented by James K. Borcia of Tressler LLP in Chicago.
