CHICAGO — The wife of a Eureka man who died in a 2015 plane crash near Bloomington is suing various companies who worked on or provided parts for the aircraft in the years leading up to the crash.
The suit names Synergy Flight Center LLC; Aircraft Propeller Service LLC; Aircraft Propeller Service Inc.; G & N Aircraft Inc.; Ram Aircraft L.P.; Continental Motors Inc.; Sandel Avionics Inc.; Garmin International Inc.; and related entities, citing alleged insufficient measures were taken to prevent injuries and negligence.
Carrie L. Bittner, as executor of the estate of Scott Lee Bittner, filed a complaint on April 7 in the Cook County Circuit Court alleging the defendants failed to properly install the left engine in the deceased's airplane, among other issues that lead to the fatal crash.
The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly failed to provide adequate service to the aircraft and failed to ensure that all components were properly installed and free of any defects.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount that exceeds the minimum jurisdictional limits of this court plus court costs. She is represented by Donald J. Nolan and Thomas P. Routh of Nolan Law Group in Chicago.
