CHICAGO — A couple is suing Community First Medical Center; Midwest Imaging Professionals LLC; and John C. Kirkpatrick M.D., alleging that the healthcare providers failed to timely diagnose breast cancer.
Anna Szalkowska and Henryk Szalkowski filed a complaint on April 17 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants alleging they failed to provide proper medical care to Anna Szalkowska.
According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege the defendants failed to interpret Szalkowska's mammogram from April 2015 and provide adequate treatment before she was diagnosed with late-stage breast cancer in February 2016.
The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against the defendants in an amount greater than $50,000, plus court costs. They are represented by Brian Hurst of Beutel Hurst Boleky LLC in Chicago.
