CHICAGO — A plumbing company is suing former employee Michael Shudy and Fettes Love & Sieben Inc., its competitor whom Shudy joined after termination, citing alleged breach of duty and fraud.
Johns Plumbing Inc. filed a complaint on April 3 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois against the defendants alleging that Shudy misappropriated plaintiff's trade secrets for the defendants' benefit.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it sustained damages to its business from having its documents taken without consent. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because Shudy allegedly took confidential and customer information without permission around the time of his termination from Johns in September 2016.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks injunction against the defendant, the disgorgement of all information and documents obtained from the plaintiff, compensatory damages, other damages, exemplary or double damages, punitive damages, court costs and any further relief this court grants. They are represented by Keith L. Hunt and Bradley E. Faber of Hunt & Associates P.C. in Chicago.
