Doctor says former employee lied about credentials and defrauded practice, patients

CHICAGO — A physician is suing Abosede Oshin, who is also known as Abosede Omotunde Badejo, and DDT Group LLC, for fraud.

Mir Joffrey M.D. LLC, which does business as Smart Sinus and Allergy and Smart Sinus Ok PLLC, filed a complaint on May 4 in Cook County Circuit Court alleging the defendant misrepresented her credentials to the plaintiff for her own gain while employed at Smart Sinus from 2014-17.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he was damaged financially when allegedly represented herself as a certified medical coder, which was false, and fraudulently retained proceeds from the collection of their patients for her own benefit.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount no less than $230,000, plus $200,000 in punitive damages and court costs. He is represented by Richard N. Kessler of Harris Kessler & Goldstein LLC in Chicago.
