CHICAGO — A patient is suing Penny Hutchinson M.D., Evergreen Emergency Services Ltd. and Little Company of Mary Hospital and Health Care Centers, citing alleged insufficient measures were taken to prevent injuries and negligence.

Denise Lawrence filed a complaint on May 5 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants alleging they failed to provide proper medical care to the plaintiff.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges she sustained serious injuries, including the amputation of her left leg. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly failed to diagnose a blood clot in plaintiff's leg and treat it before sending her home during a visit in May 2015. The condition eventually led to her leg amputation.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount that exceeds the jurisdictional limits of this court. She is represented by Michael T. Gill of Pfaff, Gill & Ports Ltd. in Chicago.
