CHICAGO — An Oak Park man is suing Illinois Tool Works, alleging violations of the Family and Medical Leave Act.
John M. Tuhey filed a complaint on May 2 in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois against Illinois Tool Works alleging his former employer interfered with his FMLA rights.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff, who worked for Illinois Tool Works as general counsel, alleges he was damaged from being denied accommodation for a disability. The plaintiff holds Illinois Tool Works responsible because the defendant allegedly terminated plaintiff's employment for exercising his rights to FMLA leave.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks all damages. He is represented by Kristin M. Case and Kate Sedey of The Case Law Firm LLC in Chicago.
