Man alleges doctor at Northwestern Memorial perforated colon during exam

CHICAGO — A patient is suing Darren M. Brenner M.D., Northwestern Medical Group and Northwestern Memorial Hospital, alleging he was injured during a colonoscopy.

Gary T. Johnson filed a complaint on May 18 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants alleginghe was injured due to the perforation of his colon during the procedure, which necessitated an emergency room visit and surgery soon after the colonoscopy. 

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount greater than $50,000. He is represented by Edward G. Proctor Jr. of Munday & Nathan in Chicago.
