Frequent suit filer Sportbrain says LifeBeam infringed patent for personal fitness technology

CHICAGO — An Illinois company known as a frequent filer of patent infringement lawsuits is suing LifeBeam Inc., based in New York.

Sportbrain Holdings LLC filed a complaint on May 30 in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois against LifeBeam Inc. alleging the defendant manufactures and sells a device that infringes at least one claim of plaintiff's patent for the technology.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages adequate to compensate the plaintiff, damages, treble damages, court costs and any further relief this court grants. It is represented by Isaac Rabicoff of Rabicoff Law LLC in Chicago.

Sportbrain Holdings is a regular patent law litigant, filing more than 100 such lawsuits in Chicago federal court against a range of defendants in 2016 and 2017. Sportbrain currently has more than 30 such lawsuits pending alleging patent infringement in the Northern District of Illinois.
