CHICAGO — The family of a deceased patient is suing DuPage Medical Group, Audrey Geannopoulos M.D. and Daniel Frank M.D. for allegedly taking insufficient measures to prevent injuries and negligence.
Joanne Karns, special administrator of the estate of Laura Karns, filed a complaint on July 5 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging the defendants failed to properly diagnose, treat and monitor Laura Karns' HIV infection.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount greater than $50,000 plus court costs. She is represented by Mark R. McKenna of Hurley, McKenna & Mertz P.C. in Chicago.
