CHICAGO — A married couple is suing the Monroe Clinic Inc. and doctor Joseph Ehle, asking the court to award at least $2 million for alleged failure to remove a cancerous growth.

Alivia L. Greenfield and Joshua Greenfield filed a complaint on July 17 in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, alleging the defendants failed to remove a malignant tumor within Alivia Greenfield. The plaintiffs claim the defendants' alleged actions caused the tumor to metastasize.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against the defendants in an amount greater than $2 million for compensatory damages and court costs. They are represented by Gregory E. Barrett of Barrett Law Firm P.C. in Rockford.
