Carbon Live Fire Mexican Grill, Martin Produce Inc. accused of serving food with E. coli

CHICAGO — A minor is suing Carbon Live Fire Mexican Grill and Martin Produce Inc. for alleged breach of duty and negligence.

Carol Horton, mother of the young male plaintiff, filed a complaint on Sept. 15 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging the defendants served food that was infected with E. coli.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges the minor suffered damages from consuming contaminated food. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly selling food to him that was contaminated with E. coli.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount greater than $50,000 for damages and injuries, plus court costs and any further relief this court grants. She is represented by Valerie A. Leopold and Brian A. Shactman of Leopold & Associates LLC in Chicago.
