Rush University Medical Center, others accused of negligently performing surgical procedure; case dismissed by plaintiff

A woman has withdrawn her lawsuit against Dr. Jacob Rotmensch and Rush University Gynecologic Oncology Associates.

UPDATE: Cook County court records indicate this case was voluntarily dismissed by the plaintiff on Jan. 11, 2018.

CHICAGO — A woman is suing Dr. Jacob Rotmensch and Rush University Gynecologic Oncology Associates for alleged negligence.

Patricia Villarreal-Verduzco filed a complaint on Oct. 18 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging she sustained serious physical injuries as a result of a failed surgery, which allegedly resulted in having to undergo further medical procedures. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly failing to completely remove her ovaries and the cysts that were causing her discomfort.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount greater than $50,000 plus court costs. She is represented by Edward M. Rubin of Rubin Machado & Rosenblum Ltd. in Chicago.
