CHICAGO — A company is suing Marsh & McLennan Agency LLC, which does business as Cline Wood, for alleged negligent misrepresentation.

Cat Express Inc. filed a complaint on Oct. 20 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging that the defendant made false representations regarding the accident insurance it sold to the plaintiff, resulting in additional premiums and other expenses. The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible for allegedly failing to inform it of whether Illinois law recognized the accident insurance it had purchased as an alternative to workers' compensation insurance.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant for damages greater than $185,000 plus court costs and any further relief this court grants. They are represented by Matthew P. Barrette and Ryan A. Mahoney of Sullivan Hincks & Conway in Oak Brook.
