CHICAGO — A woman is suing the city of Chicago and at least four Chicago Police officers for allegedly violating the Illinois Domestic Violence Act.

Diana Kerizareth filed a complaint on Dec. 14 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging the defendants refused to arrest and charge her ex-boyfriend with domestic battery.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges police allowed her ex-boyfriend to enter her house in 2016, despite an order of protection against him. The defendants allegedly removed him from her property without pressing charges.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount that exceeds the jurisdictional limits of this court, interest, court costs and any further relief this court grants. She is represented by the Law Offices of Jeffrey J. Neslund in Chicago.
