James McHugh Construction Co. sued over worker's fall from ladder

CHICAGO — A man is suing James McHugh Construction Co. and McHugh Concrete Construction Inc. for allegedly taking insufficient measures to prevent injuries.

Ciaran Hurl filed a complaint on Dec. 26 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging he sustained physical injuries on Jan. 6, 2017, when the ladder he was using allegedly slid out from underneath him. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly failing to provide him with a working ladder to use while performing his work duties.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount that exceeds the jurisdictional limits of this court plus court costs. He is represented by Patrick C. Anderson of Healy Scanlon in Chicago.
