CHICAGO — A mother and her disabled daughter are suing the Chicago Board of Education for allegedly taking insufficient measures to prevent injuries.

Takesia Sanford filed a complaint on behalf of her daughter on Jan. 18 in the Cook County Circuit Court, alleging her daughter sustained serious physical injuries on June 8, 2015, when her wheelchair allegedly rolled over a curb, causing her to fall onto the pavement. The plaintiffs hold the defendant responsible for allegedly allowing its employee to leave the girl unattended and unsecured in her wheelchair, allegedly causing it to roll over a curb.

The plaintiffs seek judgment against the defendant for all medical expenses. They are represented by Gavin M. Pearlman of Briskman Briskman & Greenberg in Chicago.
