CHICAGO — A patient is suing UCM Community Health Hospital Divisions Inc., which was formerly known as Ingalls Health System; Women's Healthcare Associates of Illinois S.C.; and Dr. Biren Shah for alleged negligence.

Brooke King-Labreck filed a complaint on April 26 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging, after she was discharged from the hospital following giving birth via cesarean section under the defendants' care, she began to experience a mild fever, chills and abdominal pain. However, the defendants allegedly suggested that it was her "milk coming in."

After allegedly visiting the defendants numerous times as her condition worsened, she allegedly was readmitted to undergo surgery to treat an infection and diagnosed with necrotizing fasciitis.
