Patient claims Northwestern Medical didn't properly treat his injured finger

By Jenie Mallari-Torres | Jul 3, 2018

CHICAGO — A patient is suing Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital, Northwestern Medical Faculty Foundation and Northwestern Medical Group, citing alleged negligence.

William Deyoung filed a complaint June 29 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging he was injured on July 2, 2016, resulting in pain and suffering, and incurred medical expenses as a result of the defendants' alleged negligence in the emergency care and treatment for his swelling index finger.

The plaintiff said the defendants allegedly failed to properly assess or evaluate his condition and failed to properly train their doctors.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks a judgment against the defendants in an amount greater than $50,000 and any other relief the court deems just. He is represented by Bruce Goodman of Steinberg, Goodman and Kalish in Chicago.
