CHICAGO – A Cook County long-term care facility is alleged to have failed to prevent a former resident from developing skin breakdown.

Daphne Foster, as independent administrator of the estate of Barbara Foster, filed a complaint on Oct. 9 in Cook County Circuit Court against Glencrest Healthcare and Rehabilitation Centre alleging wrongful death, negligence and other counts.

According to the complaint, on Aug, 31, 2015, Barbara Foster was admitted as a resident to Glencrest and was at high risk for skin breakdown and pressure ulcers. The suit states Foster developed severe and infected skin breakdown and pressures ulcers from the alleged continuing course of negligent care and treatment provided by the defendants.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs of suit. She is represented by Christopher C. Cortese of Hurley McKenna & Mertz PC in Chicago.
