CHICAGO — A  man is suing Advocate Christ Medical Center and physician Imad M. Elkhatib, citing alleged medical negligence.

Richard S. Piaskowy filed a complaint on Jan. 22 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging the defendants caused the plaintiff to suffer an injury during his ERCP surgery which resulted in several rounds of further procedures.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges in January 2017, he was admitted to Advocate Christ Medical Center for jaundice related to a bile obstruction, pain and discomfort. He underwent ERCP performed by Elkhatib. During the procedure, he alleges Elkhatib caused injuries to his arteries that required further procedures to stop the bleeding. Subsequently, his gall bladder was removed.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks more than $50,000, costs, and further relief. He is represented by Michael C. Goode of Chicago.

Cook County Circuit Court Case No. 2019L000788.
