Ex-Morton College inspector gen drops racketeering claims vs college over his firing; Faces suit over alleged bid rigging

The former inspector general at Morton College has asserted he was wrongly fired in retaliation for uncovering alleged misconduct by college leaders. The college, though, claims he helped rig a bid for a contractor to land a $2 million deal.

In a lawsuit, the former inspector general at Morton College in Cicero accused the college's president and others of allegedly conspiring to spend college funds for personal use and of allegedly improperly installing the college's athletic director.

A federal magistrate judge has decided lawyers representing the city of Chicago and former Chicago cops can question the people suing them over false arrests, about uncharged criminal behavior that occurred in the years after their alleged sham convictions.
