The Illinois Supreme Court has reversed an appellate ruling, saying a Cook County judge was right to toss a suburban high school student’s suit, because the suit did not show a gym teacher was at fault for failing to make students wear goggles during a floor hockey game, which left the student with an injured eye.

A woman is suing over injuries she suffered in a fall at a buffet restaurant. Eunice Delgado filed a complaint on May 29 in Cook County Circuit Court against Supremeville Restaurant Inc., doing business as Yummy Grill Buffet 88. On June 22, 2013, Delgado was at Yummy Grill Buffet, 17W705 Roosevelt Road, Oakbrook Terrace, when she slipped on spilled food in the fruit section and fell, severely injuring her right knee.
