A woman allegedly injured on a Greyhound bus is suing for damages.

Sonya I. Williams filed a complaint on May 29 in Cook County Circuit Court against Greyhound Lines Inc., of Delaware.

On June 24, 2013, Williams was a customer on a Greyhound bus when she was injured by the actions of the driver.

The defendant (by and through its driver) is cited for operating a bus at too fast a speed; applying the brakes in a manner that caused Williams to fall; operated the bus in a way that caused her to fall; and made an unexpected and unscheduled detour from the highway, which was a sudden and severe maneuver that caused the fall, the lawsuit states.

As a result, Williams alleged suffered injury, pain and suffering, medical expenses and loss of work time.

The plaintiff seeks damages in excess of $50,000, plus costs. The plaintiff is represented by Robertson and Wall in Chicago.

Cook County Circuit Court case no. 2015L005446.
