A pedestrian allegedly injured when struck by a vehicle in 2014 is suing the driver.
Jean Townsel filed a complaint on May 27 in Cook County Circuit Court against Margaret Fisher.
In July 14, 2014, at 6:05 p.m., Fisher was driving west on 111th Street near Kedzie Avenue in Chicago, when she struck Townsel, who was crossing 111th Street.
The plaintiff was negligent, the lawsuit states, by failing to yield the right of way, keep a proper lookout, maintain proper control, stop to avoid colliding with Townsel, change course, manage the course of the auto, honk, and utilize reasonable care.
As a result, the lawsuit states, Townsel suffered injuries, pain and suffering, medical expenses, and damage to property.
The plaintiff seeks damages in excess of $50,000, plus costs.
