A woman is suing the owners and operators of a West Chicago parking lot for injuries she allegedly suffered due to an unsafe condition there.
Traci Cunningham filed a complaint May 27 in Cook County Circuit Court against Calamos Property Management Inc., Calamos Property Holdings LLC, Calamos Properties, Calamos Real Estate LLC, Calamos Investments LLC and Superior Air Ground Ambulance Service Inc.
On March 4, 2014, Cunningham was a pedestrian in a parking lot owned and/or operated by the defendants at 2727 Freedom Drive, West Chicago. Cunningham, the lawsuit states, then fell and injured herself due to an unsafe condition in the lot.
The defendants are cited with carelessness and negligence in allowing the lot to be unsafe, failing to repair the lot, designing and constructing the lot in an unsafe way, performing repairs in an unsafe way, improperly removing snow and ice, allowing snow and ice to accumulate in an unnatural way, and failing to properly salt and remove snow.
As a result, the lawsuit states, Cunningham suffered personal and pecuniary injuries.
The plaintiff seeks damages in excess of $50,000, plus costs.
