A woman is suing the city and a maintenance firm after allegedly being injured by a falling pipe at the airport.

Jadwiga Glaz filed a complaint May 22 in Cook County Circuit Court against the city of Chicago and Skyline Management Group.

Glaz was visiting the city-owned and Skyline-maintained Terminal 5 at O'Hare International Airport on May 26, 2014, when "a defective ceiling and/or pipes/infrastructure" fell from the ceiling and landed on Glaz, the lawsuit states.

The defendants are cited for allowing the dangerous condition to persist and failure to repair the condition, maintain the premises, and warn the plaintiff about an unsafe condition.

As a result, the lawsuit states she suffered injuries, pain and suffering, medical expenses, loss of earning capacity and a normal life.

The plaintiff seeks damages in excess of $100,000, plus costs.

The plaintiff is represented by Jacquelyn A. Fernandez of the Vrdolyak Law Group LLC in Chicago.

Cook Court Circuit Court case no. 2015L005301.
