A millwright is suing after suffering injuries on a Chicago job site.

David Hovorka filed a lawsuit June 2 in Cook County Circuit Court against: Electro Motive Diesel Inc.; Progress Rail Services Corp.; Caterpillar Inc.; General Motors; Greenbriar Equity Group; and Berkshire Partners.

According to the complaint, on July 5, 2013, Hovorka was working as a millwright for Trebor Industries Corp. at the Electro Motive Diesel Plant at 9301 W. 55th St. in Chicago.  While assigned to work in the Kolb Machining area of the plant, the lawsuit states, Hovorka slipped and injured himself on an area that had become "accumulated with oil, grease and/or other materials which made the work area unreasonably hazardous, slippery, unsafe and unsuitable" for workers.

As a result, the suit says, the plaintiff sustained injures, pain and suffering, and medical expenses.

Hovorka seeks damages in excess of the court's jurisdictional limits, court costs and a jury trial. He is represented by attorney Telly C. Nakos of O'Connor and Nakos in Chicago.

Cook County Circuit Court case number: 2015L005585.
