A Chicago woman is suing an auto parts franchise, alleging injuries she suffered in its parking lot.
Juanita Hernandez filed a lawsuit June 1 in Cook County Circuit Court against Autozone Inc., alleging negligence and carelessness.
According to the complaint, on June 10, 2014, Hernandez was walking through the parking lot toward the Autozone store, at 4448 N. Pulaski Road, Chicago, when she slipped on spilled oil and injured herself.
Autzone is cited for failing to: maintain its parking lot in a safe condition; keeping oil off its parking lot; warn patrons of a hazardous condition; and creating a dangerous situation.
As a result, the suit says, the plaintiff sustained injuries, pain and suffering, loss of a normal life and medical expense.
Hernandez seeks damages in excess of $50,000, plus court costs. She is represented by attorney Michael J. LaMonica of Fisher and LaMonica in Chicago.
