A man with lung cancer is suing over his career-long exposure to asbestos.
Peter Wintersdorf Jr. filed a complaint May 11 in Cook County Circuit Court against A.W Chesterton Co.; Crane Co.; H.B. Fuller Co.; and several other companies.
Wintersdorf Jr. worked from 1967 to 1995 as a pipefitter in various locations, where he allegedly was exposed to asbestos-containing products made, sold, distributed, marketed or used by the defendants.
As a result, he was diagnosed on April 3, 2014, with lung cancer, an allegedly asbestos-related disease.
The plaintiff, citing strict product liability and secondary exposure, seeks damages in excess of the court's jurisdictional limit.
The plaintiff is represented by Daniel T. Ryan of Cooney and Conway in Chicago.
Cook County Circuit Court case number 2015L004810.
