A Cook County woman is suing Target, alleging injuries suffered when she slipped and fell inside a Hillside store.

Julie Will filed a lawsuit June 12 in Cook County Circuit Court, against Target Corporation, doing business as Super Target, alleging injuries in a fall at the Hillside location, alleging premises liability.

According to the complaint, on July 14, 2013, Will was shopping at Target's 130 S. Mannheim Road site in Hillside when she slipped and fell on an unnatural accumulation of water near the first set of exit doors. The suit states the defendant should have known of the puddle and that it was in breach of duty by failing to remove water near the exit doors, warn the plaintiff of the water’s presence, and provide a safe exit.

The suit says the plaintiff was temporarily and permanently injured. She alleges pain and discomfort, loss of potential gains and medical bills as a direct and proximate result of the defendant’s wrongful acts or omissions.

Will seeks damages of more than $50,000, plus attorney fees and costs. She is represented by attorney Dexter Evans of Woodruff Johnson & Palermo in Aurora.

Cook County Circuit Court case number 2015L0005993.
