An attorney is asking a judge to make a local Mercedes dealership return her money after allegedly experiencing defects in the purchase of a luxury sedan.
Maura Ann McBreen filed a complaint June 23 in Cook County Circuit Court against Mercedes-Benz USA, Continental AG, Continental Tire-The Americas and Mercedes-Benz of Chicago.
According to the complaint, on Jan. 31, 2013, McBreen bought a 2013 Mercedes S550V4 from the defendants for $122,019.45, which included registration, fees and taxes. She was also given a four-year or 50,000-mile warranty on the vehicle and the tires, the suit says. Shortly after driving off the dealership, according to the lawsuit, McBreen began to experience defects, such as defective tires, alignment, wheels and rims. One defect resulted in 11 trips to the service department to repair, the suit says.
McBreen seeks a judge's cancellation of the purchase contract, return of all money spent, attorney fees, witness fees and court costs. She is self-represented as an attorney for McBreen and Kopko in Chicago.
