Customer alleges negligence in fall at car dealership

A customer is suing a Lansing car dealership, alleging injuries from a fall in the dealer's parking lot.

Willie R. White filed a lawsuit June 11 in Cook County Circuit Court against Neopolitan's River Oaks Motors Inc., alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, on March 13, 2014, White was leaving the dealership, at 17225 Torrence Ave., Lansing, and walking toward his vehicle in the parking lot, when he tripped over a broken area of pavement and fell, causing him injury, pain and suffering, and medical expenses.

The suit alleges Neopolitan's River Oaks Motors was negligent for allowing the parking lot to remain in a hazardous condition and failing to inspect the property for hazards, repair the hazard, barricade the area and warn people of the hazard.

White seeks unspecified damages in excess of the court's jurisdictional limits, plus costs. He is represented by attorneys Carlton Odim of the Odim Law Offices in Chicago, and Andrew M. Stroth of Action Injury Law Group in Chicago.

Cook County Circuit Court case number 2015L005961.
