Chicago resident sues attorney for malpractice

Gorman

A local attorney is being sued after allegedly committing professional malpractice.

Frank Tovar filed a professional malpractice lawsuit in Cook County Circuit Court on Oct. 17 against Gerald Raymond Czarobski, a Cook County attorney.

Tovar alleges the defendant breached the standard of care owed to him when he became the defendant's client in December 2010.

The plaintiff states the defendant failed to timely file a claim against Farmers Insurance Co. for uninsured motorist coverage, failed to investigate the time limits for filing a claim for uninsured motorist coverage or failed to advise Tovar that he was not going to file a claim in a timely fashion against Farmers Insurance Co.

As a result, Tovar was prevented from receiving uninsured motorist benefits from Farmers Insurance Co., according to the complaint.

The plaintiff is seeking damages in an excess of jurisdictional limits. He is represented in the case by Thomas G. Gorman of Schiff Gorman LLC in Chicago.
