Ice patch in parking lot results in fall, lawsuit

Scales

A woman is suing over claims that ice accumulation caused her to slip and fall.

Caroline Kirk-Ncube filed a lawsuit Oct. 21 in the Circuit Court of Cook County against McCaffery Interests Inc., citing negligence.

The plaintiff alleges on March 18, she sustained serious injuries when she slipped and fell on ice at the defendant owned parking lot located at Dundee and Rand roads in Palatine.

According to the complaint, there was an ice patch near the parking lot median and it was covered with snow, making it impossible to see the ice.

The plaintiff is seeking damages in excess of $50,000. She is being represented by the Law Office of Marc D. Alberts P.C in Chicago.
