Home Depot accused of negligence

Comeau

Anthony Muniz filed suit in the Cook County Circuit Court on Oct. 18 against Home Depot U.S.A. Inc. over injuries he allegedly sustained while working on a construction site.

According to Muniz, in March of 2012, he was working for Beam Team Inc. at a construction site owned or controlled by Home Depot at 6211 N. Lincoln Ave. in Chicago.

Muniz claims he was using a stairway at the construction site that was erected by or for Home Depot when a stair collapsed. He alleges that Home Depot failed to properly erect or inspect the stairs, creating an unreasonably dangerous working condition that resulted in his injuries. .

Muniz is seeking more than $50,000 in damages. He is being represented by Chicago attorney D. Jeffrey Comeau of O'Connor and Nakos Ltd.
