Pair sue wrecking company for property damage resulting from nearby demolition

Yoshi Miyake and William Manhart filed suit in the Cook County Circuit Court on Aug. 27, against Standard Bank and Trust Company and Precision Excavation and Wrecking LLC.

Miyake and Manhart claim that their property at 2042 N. Burling St. in Chicago sustained damage as a result of demolition work being done to the property next door at 2044 N. Burling St.

According to the plaintiffs, Precision Excavation was responsible for putting multiple vertical and horizontal cracks in their basement, damaging their garage and allowing water into their basement.

Miyake and Manhart are seeking damages in excess of $100,000. They are being represented by John J. O'Leary of O'Leary Law Firm LLC.
