Chicago school board sued by elderly woman for injury on stairs

Kotin c

Idella Price filed a lawsuit in August in the Cook County Circuit Court against the Chicago Board of Education.

According to Price, as she was attending a basketball tournament at Al Raby High School, she was asked to sit in an upper portion of the balcony. Price protested on account of her age and asked to sit in an open seat at court level, but was denied by tournament organizers.

When she tried to climb the crowded stairs up the balcony, Price claims she fell and sustained serious injuries.

Price is seeking an undisclosed amount for pecuniary damages sustained as a result of her fall. She is represented by Daniel M. Kotin of Tomasic, Kotin and Kasserman LLC.
