Man slips on icy stairs, sues owner

A man is suing a Wisconsin property owner after he slipped and fell on ice and snow while walking down the steps of the residence.

Zbigniew Granat filed a lawsuit Oct. 25 in Cook County Circuit Court against Tadeusz and Anna Kowalcyk, citing premises liability.

According to the complaint, on Dec. 28, 2011, Granat was at a premises owned by the Kowalcyks in Friendship, Wisconsin. Granat says he was leaving the premises and while walking on the steps, slipped and fell due to an unnatural accumulation of ice and snow, injuring himself.

Granat is seeking damages in excess of the jurisdictional limit. He is being represented in the case by attorney Peter C. Wachowski of Bellas & Wachowski.
