Morelia Supermarket named in negligence lawsuit

A woman is suing after she slipped and fell on a wet floor while grocery shopping.

Liliana Alquicira filed a lawsuit July 29 in Cook County Circuit Court against Mejia Properties LLC, Morelia Supermarket Inc. and Morelia Supermarket No. 2 Inc., citing negligence.

According to the complaint, on July 29, 2011, Liliana Alquicira was shopping at Morelia Supermarket at 4833 W. Diversey Ave. i Chicago, when she slipped and fell on a wet floor, causing injuries to her lower back and right knee.

Alquicira is seeking damages in excess of $50,000. She is being represented in the case by attorney Jonathan Schlack.
