A woman is suing over claims a neighbor left his grill unattended, causing a fire.
Rhodona Kyle Johnson filed a lawsuit Oct. 24 in the Circuit Court of Cook County against Craig Pullins, citing negligence.
Johnson claims that her personal property, a unit at 3342 N. Southport Ave. in Chicago, sustained serious damages on July 6, 2012 after Pullins caused a fire.
According to the complaint, Pullins turned on his gas grill and left it unattended, causing a fire that spread to the building structure and nearby units.
Johnson is seeking damages in excess of the jurisdictional minimum. She is beng represented by Emily R. Herrell of Pfaff & Gill LTD in Chicago.
