A local medical center and doctor are being sued over a man's claim they provided him with inadequate medical care for erectile dysfunction.
Jorge and Guadalupe Calderon filed a medical malpractice lawsuit Oct. 28 in Cook County Circuit Court against Dr. Johnnie Turner and Turner Clinics, formerly known as Men's Clinics of America and Chicago Male Medical Clinic.
Jorge Calderon alleges that he went to the defendant on Oct. 29, 2011 for treatment of erectile dysfunction. During the treatment, he claims in his suit that he was injected with a mixture of medications that damaged his penis.
The suit also alleges that Calderon experienced acute intractable priapism, a medical condition in which the erect penis does not return to a flaccid state, and that Turner failed to remedy it.
As a result of the defendant's negligence, Calderon claims in his suit that he was admitted to Resurrection Medical Center and sought further medical care from Associates in Urology LLC.
The plaintiffs are seeking damages in excess of $50,000. They are represented by Chicago attorney C. Dean Matsas.
