Citizens Financial Services faces suit after woman falls on premises

Marta

A woman is suing over claims she fell outside a bank.

Carol Szymanski filed a lawsuit Nov. 6 in the Circuit Court of Cook County against Citizens Financial Services, a federal savings bank and a holding company for Citizens Financial Bank, Citizens Financial Services Inc. and CFS Bancorp Inc., citing negligence.

The plaintiff alleges she sustained serious injuries on March 2, 2012, when she tripped and fell on uneven concrete at the defendant's bank at 8301 S. Cass Ave. in Darien.

Szymanski claims the defendant negligently caused the premises to become and remain in dangerous condition by having uneven sidewalk slabs.

She is seeking damages in excess of the jurisdictional minimum and is being represented by Marta A. Zaborska and Jeffrey S. Jordan of O'Connor & Nakos Ltd.
