A man is suing over claims that an unsafe parkway caused a trip and fall accident.
John Ashford filed a lawsuit Oct. 9 in the Circuit Court of Cook County against the city of Chicago, citing negligence.
He claims he sustained serious injuries on Oct. 31, 2006, when he fell on the parkway near 4825 W. Roscoe St. in Chicago.
According to the complaint, a water pipe was sticking out of the ground between the street and curb, causing him to trip as he mounted the curb.
Ashford is seeking damages in an amount to be determined by a jury. He is being represented by Jennifer P. Irmen and Melaine VanOverloop of Anisi, Ozmon, Rodin, Novack and Kohen Ltd. of Chicago.
