A security guard is suing over allegations she fell while patrolling the south dock at McCormick Place.
Donna Bracken filed a premises liability suit Nov. 5 in Cook County Circuit Court against Metropolitan Pier and Exposition Authority (MPEA), which owns and operates McCormick Place at 2301 S. Indiana Ave. in Chicago.
Bracken asserts in her suit that MPEA contracted with Lincoln Security Services LLC to provide security personnel for a June 25 trade show at McCormick Place.
On that day, Bracken was working for the security company and was required to patrol the south dock area. She claims in her suit she sustained severe injuries after falling over equipment left near doors in her patrol area.
She is seeking damages in excess of $50,000. She is represented by attorneys Marc E. McCallister of Dudley & Lake LLC and John M Burke of Burke & Burke.
