Starbucks is being sued after a post allegedly fell on the hand of a minor.
Beebe Roh, the mother and next friend of the injured minor, filed a lawsuit Nov. 8 in the Circuit Court of Cook County against Starbucks Corp., citing negligence.
Roh alleges that her son sustained serious injuries on Feb. 9, when a heavy stanchion fell on his hand while at the Starbucks at 932 N. Rush St. in Chicago. The complaint states the defendant was negligent for failing to maintain its premises in a safe condition.
She is seeking damages in excess of the jurisdictional minimum and is being represented by Matthew T. Jenkins of Corboy & Demetrio PC.
