A woman is suing over claims she was seriously injured after being attacked by a dog.
Fairouz Barhoumeh filed a lawsuit Oct. 24 in the Circuit Court of Cook County against Melissa Sears, citing the Animal Control Act.
Barhoumeh claims she sustained serious injuries on July 9, when the defendant's dog violently attacked her while she was in the alley near 4841 N. Kilpatrick Ave. in Chicago.
The suit accuses Sears of failing to maintain a fence to enclose the dog, carelessly allowed the dog to exit the her premises and failed to monitor the dog.
Barhoumeh is seeking damages in excess of the jurisdictional minimum. She is being represented by Kilgallon Law Offices in Chicago.
