Midtown Athletic Club named in lawsuit after patron is injured

A woman is suing an athletic club after a metal shelf allegedly fell on her while she was working out.

Julie Wygodny filed a lawsuit Oct. 30 in Cook County Circuit Court against Midtown Athletic Clubs LLC, doing business as TCA-Palatine LLC, citing premises liability.

According to the complaint, Wygodny was at Midtown Athletic Club on Nov. 3, 2011, when a metal shelving unit fell and struck her while she was working out on a yoga mat, causing injury.

She is seeking damages in excess of $50,000. She is being represented in the case by attorneys at Robert A. Langendorf P.C.
