A mother is suing after her son was struck and killed by a driver who was working for the Chicago Heights School District at the time of the incident.

Kellee Walker, as special administrator of the Estate of Jackson Hill, filed a lawsuit Nov. 21 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Ronald R. Masciti and Chicago Heights School District 170, citing the state's wrongful death and survival statutes.

According to the complaint, Ronald Mascitti was operating a vehicle as an employee of the school district on Oct. 23 at the corner of Chicago Ridge and 16th Street in Chicago Heights.

On that morning, the suit states, Walker and her son were walking to school when the boy was struck by the motor vehicle driven by Mascitti, causing Jackson's death.

Walker is seeking damages in excess of the jurisdictional limit. She is being represented in the case by attorneys Richard J. Prendergast and Deirdre A. Close.
